"The Screech Owls - The Ghost of the Stanley Cup (#11) "

During the month of September I read a book called Screech Owls The Ghost of the Mini Stanley Cup. The story is about a hockey team called the Screech Owls that travel to Ottawa to play in the Mini Stanley Cup. The screech Owls travel through Algonquin Park and camp there while during the tournament.

Roy MacGregor was born in Whitney, Ontario and has been a journalist since 1972. MacGregor lives in Kanata, Ontario with his wife and their four children. His popular children's series, The Screech Owls, has been a great Canadian success and is now sold in Sweden, China and the Czech Republic, and will soon be a television series.

The plot is about a peewee hockey team traveling to Ottawa to face teams from all over Canada. They stay in a campsite in Algonquin Park. While during one of their practices a man named Joe Hall comes and offers to assist the team in coaching while at the tournament. With two main character's in the book Travis and Nish. Travis is the team captain and is very responsible. Nish is a trouble maker and loves to hassle the teams new player Sam. With the amazing team and the two best friends who are completely different they make it to the finals to face the number one team in Canada. During the book Travis and a girl named Sara get very worried about Joe Hall, he gets very sick and when Travis takes a picture of him he wasn't in it. At that time they were going to find out the truth about him. During the tournament Nish keeps growing mad at him, because Joe benched him for a game after getting in a fight. While in the finals the screech owls play an amazing game but good enough. In the dyeing seconds of the game Travis skates up with the puck and pulls a move called the heel pass that Joe Hall taught him, back to Sara and she shot and scored the final goal and they won. After the game Travis finds out the truth about Joe Hall ... He is a ghost.

The writing of the book is in third person. The book is somewhat descriptive and you could tell just by reading the book how the hockey games were going.

The book can sort of relate to me because I enjoy playing hockey and I am somewhat of a trouble maker just like Nish.

The only thing Roy MacGregor can improve is the spelling because while reading I could catch some spelling errors. It is an amazing book for children and hockey lovers.
